APPLICANTS DESIRING SIGN PERMITS

REQUIRE THE FOLLOWING:
Note: Only Contractors Licensed with the City of Bridgeport can apply for a sign permit. Please see information below.

Sign License Application
Workers' Compensation Afidavit for Sole Proprietors

1. (a) Two complete sets of plans and specifications, or proper drawings (blue line, photocopies or otherwise indelible).

(b) Three plot plans showing all buildings, locations of signs, accurate boundary lines.

(Information may be available from the Engineering Dept. Rm. 216.)

(c) Fill out Sign Permit Application and Zoning Application in INK. Compliance form signed by Tax Collector and WPCA. (See Building Dept. Main Page)

(d) Include copies of any Federal; State or Historic District permits with application.

2. When completed with #1, take all items to Zoning Dept. Rm. 210 for Zoning approvals only and pay filing fee. (Note: Zoning action may apply, verify with Zoning. 9am to 12 noon open to public)

3. When completed, return all items to the Building Department and file the Application for a Sign Permit and pay the filing fees..

1. Architect and/or engineer's seal and signature on all plans as provided by State Building Code 2005, Section 106.
2. Special Inspection Statements as required by State Building Code 2005 Section 1704.

RE: Sign Licenses, New and Renewals

Before the first of January, all sign companies doing business with the City of Bridgeport will be reminded to renew their sign licenses. To do this you must do the following:

q Submit an Insurance Certificate with the City of Bridgeport listed as Certificate holder. Your Certificate must include liability, vehicles used in the trade and Workers' Compensation. (For sole proprietors, a Building Department affidavit form, signed and notarized-

printable at the top of this page).

q Sign and return the Sign License Application (must be signed by a principal of the company)- printable link at the top of this page.

q Enclose a check for $135.00* (one hundred thirty five dollars) for a new license, $75.00* (seventy five dollars) for renewal, made payable to: City of Bridgeport. *effective 2/2/09 City Ordinance 15.32.150
